RJD Associates (North West) Limited are pleased to announce that we have been appointed as CDM Principal Designer by Peaks & Plains Housing Trust on a project that involves demolishing a complex of retirement apartments noted as Holmfield and a single storey garage building that is also located within the site demise, ahead of a potential redevelopment of the site that will be carried out under a separate contract.

The existing structure is a detached two-storey apartment building which comprises four separate blocks that are joined by link corridors. The main building was constructed circa 1960s with the adjoining blocks constructed at a later date, estimated to be circa 1970s. In addition to the residential accommodation there is a flat roofed single storey extension on the northwest side of the building that houses an oil tank, boiler room and laundry. Within the overall site demise there is an extensive area of habit comprising amenity grassland, introduced shrubs, scattered trees, scattered scrub and hedgerows.

Key health and safety considerations on this project include site access and traffic management, site clearance and enabling works including protecting existing trees and habitat, managing the interfaces with the adjoining residential properties, sequencing the demolition of the existing structures and preventing unauthorised access to the site.

RJD Associates look forward to working alongside the project team to ensure a successful delivery of this phase of the works.
