RJD Associates have been appointed by Leeds Federated Housing Association as CDM Principal Designer on a residential development project in Pudsey, which involves constructing 54 residential dwellings in conjunction with all associated enabling, establishment, infrastructure and external works.

The scheme, at Owlcotes Road, will see Caddick Construction Limited build a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes for shared ownership and affordable rent with associated groundworks delivered by Caddick’s specialist subcontracting business, Caddick Civil Engineering.

Georgina Nijjar, Head of Development at Leeds Federated, said: “The homes are being designed to be energy efficient and sustainable. Each home will include energy saving features, such as solar PV panels, air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, to help support residents to minimise energy costs and reduce the carbon footprint. We’ve ensured that green spaces will be created for residents to enjoy.”

Key health and safety considerations on this project include site establishment and enabling works including demolishing the existing farm buildings and sheds, preventing unauthorised access to the construction site, fire safety, traffic management, temporary works, and buildability considerations including restricted access and working space within the site demise, and managing the interfaces with the adjoining residential properties, other adjacent land uses and the local road network.

RJD Associates director Damien Ratcliffe said: “We’re proud to be part of a project team that is working hard to ensure the successful delivery of this development.”
