RJD Associates (North West) Limited have been appointed as the CDM Principal Designer by Snell Developments Limited on a residential development project involving the construction of 8no dwelling houses with car parking or garages and garden areas for each dwelling. The scope of works includes constructing a site entrance from the adjoining public highway and section of adopted road to service the development, constructing driveways, parking spaces and turning areas, forming hard and soft landscaped areas, constructing foul and surface water drainage systems and installing mains services.
The site is located at Main Street within the village of Cononley and comprises the former St John’s Church, which was located in the south section of the site and is now demolished. In addition to the site of the former Church the site demise includes an area of undeveloped land within the north section of the site. The site has an area of approximately 0.33 hectares, with overall dimensions of 93m north to south and 37m east to west. The south section of the site has a covering of hardstanding leading from the existing site entrance off Main Street to the site of the former Church. The northern two thirds of the site have a covering of grass and vegetation, and there are stockpiles of recovered stone and topsoil within the site demise.
Key health and safety considerations on this project include managing the overlap and associated interfaces between the construction site and adjacent occupied areas within the village, traffic management, temporary works, groundworks and foundation construction, carrying out construction works adjacent to the northeast boundary with the Airedale Railway Line, restricted working space and preventing unauthorized access to the construction site. RJD look forward to working alongside the project team to ensure a successful delivery of the scheme.
