RJD Associates (North West) Limited have been appointed as CDM-C on a new project at RPC Containers Limited in Blackburn. The works comprise a warehouse extension to the existing premises, including associated internal alterations and external works.
The new warehouse will be constructed with a steel frame superstructure with a low pitch roof structure over, and the walls and roof will be clad with profiled metal cladding. External works will include the formation of a new vehicular site access onto an existing estate road, new external service areas and associated landscaping works.
A key issue to consider from CDM/Health & Safety perspective on this project is the overlap with the Client’s undertakings, as the existing RPC premises will be remaining operational during the contract period, therefore potential hazards such as site access for contractors, traffic management, unauthorized persons entering the site etc. will need to be controlled throughout course of the contract.
