RJD Associates (North West) Limited are pleased to announce that we have been appointed as CDM Principal Designer on a project that involves refurbishing a Grade II Listed Building noted as Neptune Mill with associated external works for continued use within Use Class E (Commercial, Business and Service). The Mill is a 5-storey building with an adjoining single storey former garage building, and the scope of works includes demolishing the single storey former garage building and making good to its external footprint, fabric alterations on all floor levels removing existing walls and partitions, removing raised floor elements, removing internal doors, removing sanitaryware and fittings, cleaning the existing floors, walls columns and beams, constructing walls and partitions, applying floor, wall and ceiling finishes, forming office, toilet and kitchen accommodation and installing M&E services. External works include carrying out localised repairs to the external brick facades including infilling with new sections of facing brick and blockwork, removing the existing external doors and windows and replacing them with new door and window units, and reroofing the existing pitched roof over the Mill including forming new rooflight openings.

Key health and safety considerations on this project include managing potential interfaces with adjacent buildings and public areas, stripping out the existing building including removing ACMs, contact with live services, temporary works, demolition works, fire safety, preventing unauthorised access to the construction site, work at height, restricted working space, traffic management and general buildability considerations.

RJD Associates look forward to working alongside a project team that is being led by Capita&Centric to help ensure the successful delivery of this project.
