RJD Associates have been appointed as the CDM Principal Designer on a development project at Junction 27 Retail Park in Birstall, which involves demolishing an existing building previously occupied by Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s restaurant units and constructing 3 no. restaurant units, noted as Units 1-3.
Units 1 & 2 will be drive-thru stores that will be occupied by Starbucks and KFC upon completion and Unit 3 will be a drive-to unit that is currently a speculative development.
Key health and safety considerations on this project include site establishment and enabling works including stripping out the existing buildings, preventing unauthorised access to the construction site, demolition works, fire safety, traffic management, temporary works, maintaining the structural stability of the existing boundary retaining walls, and buildability considerations including restricted access and working space within the site demise and restrictions due to adjacent structures and land uses.
