RJD Associates (North West) Limited have been appointed as the CDM Co-ordinator on Phase 2 of the ‘On the Banks’ regeneration scheme at the Weaver’s Triangle in Burnley.

The Weaver’s Triangle is highly regarded nationally as a largely intact area representative of the period of 19th century industrialisation, in particular, the development of cotton textile manufacture and allied trades. Prior to the recently completed Phase 1 works to form the Visions Learning Trust University Technical College within Victoria Mill the buildings within the Weaver’s Triangle had been vacant and vulnerable for a number of years, with previous proposals to redevelop them having been unsuccessful. ‘On the Banks’ is an exciting heritage-led regeneration scheme that will restore one of the country’s best preserved areas of industrial heritage by mixing the historic buildings with modern iconic infrastructure. RJD are proud to have been given the opportunity to work on such an exciting and prestigious project.

The scope of the Phase 2 works includes the conversion of Sandygate Mill into a mixed use building, the conversion of Sandygate Weaving shed into a car park including the construction of a new section of car park structure, and the formation of a new public realm paved area.
