In their Digest Issue 36 – 8/2015 the Association for Project Safety announced the intention to amalgamate the previous two business member categories (Corporate Member and Registered Practice), as part of their drive to “raise the game” and give business membership recognisable credentials within the industry. To quote from the then APS President, Richard Wilks: “APS needs to raise its game to take the lead in supporting the drive for better Safety and Health outcomes in the construction industry. We need to raise our standards and credibility. We need to raise our profile and strengthen our partnerships with other professional bodies and industry organisations. We need to consolidate our Members’ support for this organisation and aim to attract new members.”
The new single business category is known as APS Corporate Member and adopts assessment and audit processes leading to accreditation. All previous Corporate Members were required to undertake an assessment in accordance with procedures that previously applied only to APS Registered Practices. RJD Associates (North West) Limited were previously Corporate Members of the APS, and are pleased to announce that we have retained the standard required for the Company to become a Corporate Practice of the Association, having being successful in a recently undertaken assessment process, complying with ISO 9001: 2008 our competence in terms of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 as a Principal Designer and Consultant to the Principal Designer Practice.
